More Persecution

A sample of just some of the news from the Barnabas Fund about persecution over the Christmas period:

  • In Iran, a meeting of 70 Christian coverts on Dec 17, 2009 was raided by 15 police officers and two leaders were arrests.
  • Two churches were bombed in Mosul, Iraq killing at least 3 people on Dec 23, 2009. On Dec 25, 2009 the Christian majority town of Bartilla, near Mosul was attacked by a mob of armed Kurds. Four Christians including a policeman received gunshot wounds.
  • In Zimbabwe, a cathedral in Harare and 3 churches were raided by police. Worshippers were beaten up and forced from the buildings on Dec 25, 2009.
  • In Malaysia, between Jan 8-11 at least 8 Churches and a Christian School were attacked. It was an apparent response to a court ruling that the word “Allah” could be used when referring to God.

UN Agenda

The Catholic Family and Human Rights Institute reports that there are 8 frightening UN meetings. The Institute says that as innocuous as some of these meetings may sound, each of them is a battleground in the war between the Culture of Life and the Culture of Death:

  • January 25 – February 3
UN NGO Committee (this is the group of countries that approves or disapproves groups for official UN status and where radical groups sneak into the UN).
  • February 3 – February 12
UN Commission for Social Development, a meeting of 54 UN Member States that feeds documents into the General Assembly.
  • March 1 – March 12
UN Commission on the Status of Women, a meeting that will see upwards of 2,000 radical feminist lobbyists braying for a right to abortion. This will also be the “celebration” of the Beijing Women’s Conference. This will be dynamite.
  • March 8 – March 26
UN Human Rights Committee, the treaty monitoring body for the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights. This is the largely unknown committee that will hassle governments to change their laws on abortion. We watch and report!
  • April 12 – April 16
UN Commission on Population and Development, the body that will promote population control and a right to abortion.
  • May 3 – May 14
UN Commission on Sustainable Development, a meeting of UN member states that will promote radical environmentalism, population control and a right to abortion.
  • May 26 – June 4
UN NGO Committee, yet another meeting to approve radical groups coming into the UN.
  • July 12 – July 30
Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women, this is a treaty monitoring body that has told 90 countries to change their laws on abortion.

SA R-rated Films

The South Australian Govt has introduced a law which means any R-rated film on display in a general outlet containing films containing films with lower classifications, must be displayed in plain packaging.  One film promoter said he was gobsmacked because it would discourage people from watching these films and would be harmful to the R-rated film promotors.
