Abortion Spending

According to the April 1, Friday Fax from the Catholic Family and Human Rights Institute (C-Fam), a UN report has just been released with the backing of the world’s top population organisations which argues that double the money should be spent on family planning and abortion in poor countries. It calls for spending of $24b a year. The report, entitled “Adding it Up: the Costs and Benefits of Investing in Family Planning and Maternal and Newborn Health,” says that this would reduce unsafe abortions by 73% and led to a 60% reduction of disabilities.
