Church Attacks

The Barnabas Fund reports that up to 400 Christians were trapped inside a church for 19 hours on March 12, 2010 when a Muslim mob, estimated to at between 2000 and 3000 people attached the building. The event occurred in Marsa-Matruh, in northwest Egypt. The mob hurled stones during a service, then entered the church and began to assault the Christians. The mob then burnt Christian-owned houses, shops, businesses and cars. 23 Christians were injured in the violence.

Action: the Barnabas Fund asks that people pray for those Christians praying that they will be able to love and forgive their enemies and that their witness will open the eyes of those who persecute them.
