WA Gambling

WA Gambling will expand after the State Govt provided in-principle support on July 19, 2010 for a $350m expansion of the Burswood “Entertainment” Complex. The Racing and Gaming Minister Terry Waldron said the development would provide a $200m boost in taxes and levies to the State Govt. He said the Govt would not stand in the way of the Gaming and Wagering Commission deciding on the application for more gaming capacity at the Casino. The expansion will provide an additional 250 gaming machines and 50 gaming tables bring the total number of machines to 2000 and the number of tables to 220. To help problem gamblers $2m will be allocated by the State Government.
