Opinion Censored

The Australian Christian Lobby has asked ANZ and IBM to explain why they allowed themselves to be coerced by the homosexual lobby into censoring the On Line Opinion website on the issue of homosexual marriage. The companies pulled their advertising from On Line Opinion after an article was written by Bill Muehlenberg which was critical of homosexual marriage. ANZ said the removal of their advertising should not be viewed as a violation of free speech; “it’s simply that we choose not to advertise on blogs that do not align to our organisational values.”

For Muehlenberg article: http://www.onlineopinion.com.au/view.asp?article=11268

The editor of On Line Opinion is calling for new financial backers as there has been a boycott of advertising on his website.

As at Feb 11, 2011 10.49% of those that took part in the poll said they supported marriage as between a man and woman.

Action: the ACL asks people to contact ANZ and IBM to express your concern with their position, particularly if you are a customer.

Canada’s Dire Straits

Canada’s broadcast standards council has ruled that Dire Straits’ 1985 hit Money for Nothing should be censored because of a homosexual slur in its lyrics. The council said the British band’s use of a slur referring to gay people three times in the song breaches the national broadcasters’ code of ethics. The council said an edited version of the song could be played. For story: http://au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/entertainment/a/-/entertainment/8649041/dire-straits-song-should-be-censored/
