Movie-Arthur Christmas

From www.movieguide.org: “it has some heartwarming scenes of a family learning to stick together. It also has many funny, adorable, and playful moments. Caution is advised, however, due to an emphasis on believing the “magic” of Christmas, with no clear reference to the real reason for Christmas – Jesus Christ. That said, ARTHUR CHRISTMAS does have references to Christmas carols and to church. ” View the full review

Movie-Jack and Jill

From movieguide.org: “The biggest and best aspect of the movie for Christians and families is that it places a high and unmistakable value on the power of families and sibling bonding, while also criticizing dishonesty and meanness, and mocking atheism. There are, however, passing gas jokes, slapstick comedy, cross-dressing and more than a few light profanities. So, caution is recommended.” For full review: http://www.movieguide.org/reviews/movie/jack-and-jill.html

Movie-Moneyball

From www.movieguide.org: “Strong moral worldview with a positive message about the weak becoming strong and a strong father-daughter relationship. About 27 to 29 obscenities (including three or four “f” words) and one strong profanity; some tantrums shown behind the scenes such as throwing a bat against a wall, turning over a table, banging on a table, dumping a large barrel of sweetened water; no sexual content; brief upper male nudity natural to locker rooms; alcohol use and discussion of one player’s tendency to party in Las Vegas but no details discussed; some lying, arguments, protagonist is divorced, and players are fired.” For review: http://www.movieguide.org/reviews/movie/moneyball.html

Homeless Services

In 2010-11, an estimated 230,500 people (equivalent to 1 in 97 Australians) used specialist homelessness services. Young people, families and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people continued to be significant users of services.
