CHOGM Prayer

The Commonwealth Prayer Initiative is planned to coincide with the meeting of the heads of the Commonwealth Nations. On project is called Project 54 where churches, schools, organisations and individuals can adopt one of the 54 nations in the Commonwealth. So far almost 500,000 people have signed up to be involved in the Project. In addition between Oct 2-30 a series of events are planned. Homeless CHOGM Plan

The State Govt has allocated $112,000 to provide services to homeless people in Perth during the hosting of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM). Child Protection Minister Robyn McSweeney said there were no plans to remove homeless people from Perth’s CBD but people may be asked to move on from restricted areas and homeless people will be directed to support services. CHOGM Homosexual Campaign

Homosexual groups have formed the CHOCM Action Network is planning protests to coincide with the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting when it is held in Perth in October. The groups want to expose the Australian Government ‘for ongoing discrimination towards LGBTI (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex) particularly as it does not allow homosexual marriage.
