Curriculum Help Needed

The Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority invites members of the education profession and other suitably qualified and experienced members of the community to express their interest in joining an Equity and Diversity Advisory Group for the next phase of curriculum development and preparation for implementation. Gender Neutral Sweden

A pre-school in Sweden has banned gender terms. Instead of referring to children as ‘him’ or ‘her’ or boys and girls the staff addresses them as ‘friends’. The colour of toys and books have been carefully chosen so that the children don’t fall into gender stereotypes. Religious Education

The Age reports on an article on Christian Religious Education and a complaint that has been lodged with the Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission by those opposed to religious education.

At the time that Saltshakers asked for Action (May 16) it reported that of the 33,000 votes, 53% voted yes. By June 3, 80438 voted, of which 78% had voted Yes.
