Dr Ted Baehr is the founder of Good News Communications, Inc., MOVIEGUIDE & the Christian Film & Television Commission Ministry.

There is opportunity to hear him speak at the following:

Thursday 23 May, 6.30pm: Dr Ted Baehr from movieguide.org will address the 3rd speakers forum of the Dawson Society for Philiosophy and Culture. He will speak on “Virtue in an age of global entertainment: We’re not in Kansas or Kiev anymore.” It will be held at Rosie O’Grady, James St, Northbridge, starting at 6.30pm. Dinner costs $25. Friday 24 May, 6pm: Dr Ted Baehr will speak on “Understanding the Mass Media’s Influence on Today’s Culture”. ARPA Christian Political Engagement Breakfast

A Christian Response to Abortion

The Association for Reformed Political Action is is hosting a presentation by Lyn Schoof, from Pregnancy Problem House in Albany. She will talk about the effect of abortion on women, men and society and will also talk about the setting up of the Pregnancy Problem House in Albany.  A collection will be held on the night to support the work carried out at the Albany Pregnancy Problem House. A discussion will also occur into the possiblity of setting up a PPH in Fremantle.

The presentation will be at 7:45pm on Thursday, 10 May 2012 in the Southern River Free Reformed Church Building, Southern River Road.

ARPA talks

The secretary of the Association for Reformed Political Action, Warnar Spyker, spoke to the congregation meeting of the Free Reformed Church of Byford on Feb 27. Mr Spyker spoke about the aims of ARPA, the different legislation that was going through the Federal and State Parliaments and encouraged attendees to get involved. He spoke about the active home mission or church planting that his church does, providing ideas on ways that it could be done also in Australia.

Schadenberg Visit

About 60 people from the Free Reformed Churches listened to Alex Schadenberg, the executive director of the Euthanasia Prevention Coalition-Canada, and the chair of the Euthanasia Prevention Coalition – International in an event sponsored by Gleanings in Perth this week. Mr Schadenberg is spending a week travelling across Australia speaking on the trend to introduce euthanasia across the globe.
