Dear Readers,

Firstly a big welcome to new subscribers. We hope that you gain courage and learn of new ways to let your Christian voice be heard through this Newsletter.

A lot is happening it seems at the moment.

In WA an election is due tomorrow.

WA voters will do well to read the snippets: “WA Election Advice from Christian Organisations”, “Emily’s List Behind WA Labor Candidates” and “Pro-Euthanasia WA Candidates Supported”

Tasmanian readers will need to raise up with two bills being discussed in that State. See submissions/petitions for details on how to get involved.

Tasmania is an example of what happens when godless people get into positions of authority. The Government there, in partnership with the Greens, is certainly making the most of their time in the sun, leaving a path of destruction.

Please pray for the WA elections tomorrow, that more Christians might get voted into parliament, and that the anti-Christian Greens will lose their seats.

May God watch over you all in your various callings.

Gary

State Homosexual Marriage Laws Unconstitutional

Murdoch University senior lecturer in constitutional law and associate dean (research) Augusto Zimmermann reports in News Weekly (Oct 13 2012) that the push by Labor and the Greens to introduce same sex “marriage” laws in State Parliament is unconstitutional. He writes that any such legislation would be subject to disallowance by the High Court as the Australian Constitution gives the Commonwealth parliament authority to makes laws with respect to marriage. For the latest update on moves by the Greens and Labor to introduce state legislation see Submissions/Petitions below.

Green’s New Euthanasia Stand?

In the latest newsletter of Exit International, Euthanasia campaigner Philip Nitschke expresses concern with the change in leadership of the Australian Greens. Nitschke says that Exit has lost a ‘powerful friend and ally” with the retirement of Bob Brown. He says that new Greens Leader Christine Milne is no friend of the Voluntary Euthanasia issue. “Ms Milne was educated at St Mary’s College Hobart, is a practising Catholic and has previously been employed by the Church as an advisor on environmental issues.”

Nitschke goes on to say: “I am not anti-Church or anti-faith, but I am concerned with the increasing religiosity of our politicians and the way the Church is able to systematically infiltrate public policy in this country. We’ll await with interest the new Green’s leaders first parliamentary statement on this issue.”
