Sri Lanka Violence

Ethiopia Sentences

Sudan Hardship

Christians continue to get targeted in Sudan. Mission and church contacts are describing the situation as “ethnic cleaning” and “absolute carnage.” “Reportedly churches are being directly targeted by aerial bombardments; tens-of-thousands of civilians have apparently been displaced, fleeing the bombardments and terror attacks. Nigerian Killings

More than 800 people were killed in riots that broke out across northern Nigeria after April’s presidential election, according to an international human rights group. It is reported that 194 churches have been burnt down, 1200 houses destroyed and 15000 people have been displaced. China Clampdown

At least three “underground” priests in China’s northern Hebei province have been detained in the Chinese crackdown on human rights activists and Christians not affiliated to the government-sanctioned Church, reports ucanews.com. More: http://www.cathnews.com/article.aspx?aeid=25861

ChinaAid reports that the Chinese Govt is employing “mafia-type violence” in its campaign against Christians. In one church at least 169 worshippers were rounded up and put on buses, their mobile phones were confiscated and the people were ordered to write statements of repentance. Pakistan Persecution
