Canadians Rally to End Female Gendercide.

Thousands of Canadians took part in the annual March for Life on May 9 2013. The theme of the March was female gendercide, the practice occurring in Canada and Australia where girls are aborted because of societal preference for boys. According to WeNeedaLaw.ca about 20,000 people gathered on Parliament Hill in Ottawa. Another 2000 attended the March in Victoria. Member of Parliament, Lawrence Toet told the crowds of pre-born human rights activists of the need to support grassroots movements, mentioning WeNeedaLAW.ca in particular.

WeNeedaLAW.ca director, Mike Schouten said, “This is a global problem which needs to be addressed in Canada as well. It was great to see so many people taking a stand today!” For press release click here.  To watch Mike Schouten speech click here.

See Submissions/petitions to see related item on the Democratic Labor Party Senator John Madigan Bill. The Bill, the Health Insurance Amendment (Medicare Funding for Certain Types of Abortion) Bill 2013  seeks to remove Medicare funding for gender-selective abortion.
