Tassie Abortion Push

The public submission period of the Tasmanian legalising abortion push has been extended to 5 April 2013.

More than 80 people attended a silent protest against the proposed abortion law changes according to a report in the Examiner.

The Tasmanian Govt is proposing to legalise abortion in Tasmania and remove criminal sanctions for woman and doctors. According to the Tasmanian Department of Health and Human Services website, the current laws are “out of step with advances in safe medical practices and community expectations.”

Christianity deserts West

Christians make up about the same portion of the world’s population today (32%) as they did a century ago (35%), according to a report by Pew Research Center. Pew Research Center says: “This apparent stability, however, masks a momentous shift. Although Europe and the Americas still are home to a majority of the world’s Christians (63%), that share is much lower than it was in 1910 (93%). And the proportion of Europeans and Americans who are Christian has dropped from 95% in 1910 to 76% in 2010 in Europe as a whole, and from 96% to 86% in the Americas as a whole. At the same time, Christianity has grown enormously in subSaharan Africa and the Asia-Pacific region, where there were relatively few Christians at the beginning of the 20th century.”

The report says about 50% of the christians are Catholic while 37% are Protesant.

Philippines Under Fire

Steve Mosher, president of the Population Research Institute, says that well-funded foreign population control and abortion organisations are behind the “Responsible Parenthood, Reproductive Health And Population And Development Act Of 2011”. The Act fixes the ideal family size at two children. Mosher says that it will give further impetus to social engineering projects, already underway in the Philippine Department of Health and other government departments, to reduce family size. In our experience at PRI, any time a government sets population targets of any kind, it leads to human rights abuses.
