Sudan terror

Opendoors reports that Sudanese Christians are living beneath a blanket of fear since South Sudan seceded in July 2011. Sudan has moved up in Open Doors World Watch ranking to 16 from 35. Members of the Sudanese Church of Christ were detained on Dec 23. OpenDoors asks people to pray that church leaders will have wisdom and grace to respond to increasing opposition and that God will give strength to the Open Doors teams working in the country.

Sudan Hardship

Christians continue to get targeted in Sudan. Mission and church contacts are describing the situation as “ethnic cleaning” and “absolute carnage.” “Reportedly churches are being directly targeted by aerial bombardments; tens-of-thousands of civilians have apparently been displaced, fleeing the bombardments and terror attacks. The UN estimates that 60,000 civilians have been displaced fleeing the latest upsurge in violence.” Source: http://www.frontline.org.za/

Global Prayer Day

The World Evangelical Alliance is asking Christians to observe a global day of prayer on Dec 5, 2010.
